Candle Care Instructions
Candles can provide a warm and inviting ambiance to your space, but it's essential to use and care for them safely to ensure their longevity and prevent accidents. Here are some care instructions for your candles:
Initial Burn
When lighting a new candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the entire surface of the wax melts evenly across the container. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures the candle burns evenly in the future.
Trim the Wick
Before each use, trim the candlewick to approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) in length. Trimmed wicks help maintain a clean and steady burn, prevent excessive smoke, and reduce soot.
Avoid Drafts
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts. Drafts can cause uneven burning and make the candle drip or smoke more.
Burn Time
Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time. Excessive burning can lead to overheating and cause the glass container to crack.
Extinguish Safely
Use a candle snuffer or a candle lid to extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing out the candle, which can create smoke and disturb the wax pool.
Avoid Moving While Lit
Never move a burning candle or a candle that has just been extinguished. Wait until the wax has solidified and the candle has cooled before relocating it.
Keep Away from Flammable Items
Keep candles away from curtains, fabrics, paper, and other flammable materials. Ensure there is distance between the candle and any surrounding objects.
Storage
Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can discolor and melt candles.
Container Candle Safety
If you're using a container candle, discontinue use when there is about 1/2 inch (1.27cm) of wax left at the bottom. Continued burning can overheat the container.
Candle Holder
For wax melts and candles, please use a proper candle holder designed for the size of the candle to catch any drips or wax spills.
Keep Out of Reach
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Always supervise children and pets around burning candles.
